Schilthorn – Piz Gloria (2970m above sea level)

After a short journey by funicular to Grütschalp, a scenic mountain railway line runs alongside alpine meadows to the traffic-free village of Mürren. Once in Mürren, there is a walk of about 15 minutes to the cable car station for the ride to the summit of the Schilthorn. On arrival at the Piz Gloria they will be able to admire the views from the terrace or eat lunch in the revolving mountain top restaurant. Schynige
Platte (1967m above sea level)
Coach journey from Interlaken to the pretty village of Wilderswil. The journey continues by cog-railway across the alpine meadow of Breitlauenen to the mountain station Schynige Platte. From here there is a spectacular bird’s eye view of Interlaken, lakes Thun and Brienz, the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald valleys and of course the ever present panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. Whilst at the Schynige Platte, a visit to the botanical alpine garden with its 500 different plant species should not be missed. Lunch can be eaten in the mountain restaurant directly next to the station or a packed lunch can be provided to be eaten on the journey. The return is again by cog-railway to Wilderswil, where the coach will be waiting to complete the final leg of the journey back to Interlaken.

Lunch in the
restaurant A boat trip on one of the lakes in the Bernese Oberland is always a fabulous experience. Where else can you enjoy such an impressive view of the Bernese Alps whilst slowly cruising along the romantic shores with their gushing waterfalls, proud castles, old churches and quaint villages? The trip to the famous woodcarving town of Brienz takes just under an hour. There is plenty of time for a leisurely lunch, a stroll along the lakeside or souvenir shopping before the coach leaves for the return journey to Interlaken.
Lunch Boat trip of 25 minutes on Lake Thun from Interlaken West to Sundlauenen/Beatushöhlen. From here there is a rather steep walk of about 20 minutes up to the cave entrance (good sturdy shoes required). Visitors to the caves are given a guided tour along illuminated underground paths which are up to 1000 metres below ground level. The caves are filled with stalagmites and stalactites and visitors will gain a fascinating insight into a unique underground world. The exhibition in the Cave Museum shows not only the development and history of the St Beatus caves, but also of Swiss cave exploration in general. The return journey to Interlaken is by coach along the cliff road on the edge of Lake Thun to Interlaken. Boat trip (1st Class)
